MEET THE TEAM
Formerly part of the Peter Geary Group of Companies, Ashley Jones Accountants Ltd was formed in 2002 and set down roots in Bishops Castle in 2007.
ASHLEY JONES, FMAAT - DIRECTOR
Ashley is a fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians, having qualified in 1994. He joined Peter Geary in 1999 and has a wealth of experience dealing with a great variety of owner- managed businesses. Ashley feels that building lasting relationships is the best way to understand a client’s business and their varying needs. As a natural lateral thinker, problem solving is a key skill in assisting clients and their businesses to succeed along with a high degree of organisational skills and attention to detail.
PETER GEARY, FCA - CONSULTANT
Peter is a Chartered Accountant who qualified in 1981, having previously managed a small branch office of a medium-sized firm in Somerset he soon realised that his strong point was interacting with the smaller owner-managed business. Peter has provided accountancy services in South Shropshire since 1983. As well as offering consultancy services to the firm Peter continues to run Peter Geary Management Limited from the same offices in Bishops Castle.
DENISE LEWIS, MAAT
Denise joined the firm in 2009 having worked for other accountancy practices previously. While at the firm she has qualified with AAT and she is a key part of the accounts production team, working with sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies. Denise also completes quarterly VAT returns for many of the clients.
DAVID CROUGHTON, MAAT
David has recently moved into South Shropshire and has previously worked as an in-house accountant in SME companies as well as having private clients as a licensed accountant. He is MAAT qualified and provides key support to Ashley; concentrating on accounts preparation and VAT as well as leading the payroll department. He has a keen interest in the future of accountancy and the way the cloud technology is being used to transform practices into the digital world.
TRACY PAGE
Tracy has been with the firm from the start! She is our receptionist and office manager, assisting the team with administrative support. She also manages a number of payroll clients. She personifies our ethos of friendliness, and adds in a strong element of charm, putting clients at ease.
ROWAN BRUNTON, CFAB
Rowan joined the firm in 2017 and assists Peter in providing accounting and taxation services. He brings to the firm strong digital skills, an enquiring mind, and an outgoing personality.
SAMANTHA EDWARDS, ACCA
Samantha has a wealth of small business experience and works alongside us as a bookkeeping consultant providing a VAT & management accounts service to our clients through the digital platforms - Quickbooks, Xero and Sage.
As well as our staff we have strong external links with Tax Planning Consultants, VAT, Income Tax, Corporation Tax and Employment Tax Advice and offer a fee protection service, in the event of HMRC tax enquiry. This is provided by Markel with whom we have a 20 year relationship.
